Disqualify Sakshi Maharaj: Former union minister Poojary............

MANGALURU: Former union minister B Janardhana Poojary has sought action against Swami Sachchidanand Hari Sakshi Maharaj, a member of BJP, RSS and MP of Unnao constituency, who recently praised Mahatma Gandhi assassin Nathuram Vinayak Godse.
"MP Sakshi Maharaj's praise for Godse, assassin of Mahatma Gandhi, is an unpardonable crime. Prime Minister Narendra Modi should initiate action to disqualify the MP," Poojary told reporters here on Friday.

"Mahatma Gandhi is acclaimed widely as the Father of Nation and he is a role model for the entire World for his philosophy of 'Ahimsa'. Even the United Nations has accredited the values of Mahatma Gandhi's philosophy and propagates it too. However, the Prime Minister has been seen tight-lipped even when Sangh Parivar men speak derogatorily about Mahatma Gandhi," Poojary said.

"It would be a strong message to the nation, if Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiate action against Sakshi Maharaj. Action also needs to be initiated against Union minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, who sparked controversial remarks of 'ramzaadon' and 'haramzaadon'. Modi will have no moral rights to speak of national integrity if he does not take action against those Sangh Parivar leaders," he added.
