Air Force UAV Heron crashes in Barmer........

JAISALMER: An unmanned areal vehicle (UAV) of the air force crashed in Barmer district after developing a 'technical snag' on Friday. The UAV reportedly crashed over a makeshift house that belonged to a villager named Gang Singh. The house was damaged, eyewitnesses said; however, there were no reports of loss of a human life.

The UAV crashed near Akoda helmet near Chouhatan town in Barmer district in the afternoon. Initial reports suggested that the crash occurred due to a snag in the UAV's engine. There are only a couple of homes in the hamlet and there was no one in the makeshift house into which the plane crashed.

The villagers informed the police following which a team from Akoda police station reached the spot. A team of experts from the air force was also on its way till the reports last came in.

The plane had taken off from Uttarlai in Barmer which is home to an air force station.
