Kenya is mourning again! We have been mourning for the last two weeks but our grief has multiplied. It has tripled, thanks to the insurgence by Al-Shabaab militia who kill with the bullet, leaving sorrow and grief behind as they laugh away to Somalia.
Two weeks ago, two of my many high school mates and 26 other innocent Kenyans were ambushed and sprayed with bullets by the militants as they travelled from Mandera to their homes for December holidays, effectively ending their journey in thickets of Mandera.
As if that was not enough, the militants bounced again last night, sprayed bullets randomly and killed 36 innocent Kenyans who were in a quarry mining construction stones.
This is all because of poor security systems in the country that have prompted the resignation of Inspector General of Police David Kimaiyo and the sacking of Interior Cabinet secretary Joseph Ole Lenku a few hours ago.
