You're Looking At The Most Honest Man In India........

K. Sudhakaran runs a small shop in the town of Kanhangad in northern Kerala where he sells sweets, juices, cold drinks and lottery tickets. He seems like a genuine vendor in a small town, but Roshan Shah from thebetterindia.com learns that he is probably the most honest man in India.

Other than finding a gold chain on a train and returning it to the police, Sudhakaran's ethical values didn't end. One day, his customer asked him to keep aside a few lottery tickets. As fate would have it, the winning number was part of the reserved tickets. Instead of pocketing the ticket for himself, he asked his father to congratulate the customer on his lottery win.
When asked whether he hesitated while taking this decision, this is what he had to say to Shah:
“No, not at all! I knew that what my father had said was perfectly right. My parents taught me to be honest, to do what is right, to consider everyone, rich and poor, as equal. My mother and all my other relatives were all very happy with what I had done. They all said that I had done the right thing.”

Sudhakaran earns Rs. 10,000 a month running his small shop which goes towards supporting his family of 6. His daily commute is 2 hours and he works 7 days a week, taking a weekly off only once in a while.
“Try to do as much good as possible and to refrain from doing bad — that way, you can lead a happy, meaningful life,” is his advice to Shah as he goes about his livelihood. Sudhakaran has truly restored faith in humanity.
