Netanyahu: We expect the EU to put Hamas back on the terror blacklist immediately...........

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called on the European Union to put Hamas back on its terror blacklist immediately, after an EU court annulled the bloc's decision to designate the group a terrorist organization.

The General Court of the European Union canceled the EU's decision to put Hamas on the list, but gave EU states three months to provide more evidence as to why the group should remain blacklisted. The court ruled that the original decision to blacklist Hamas
was not based on an examination of Hamas's acts but on imputations derived from the media and the Internet. Blacklist measures against Hamas will remain in place during this three month period.

Netanyahu said that he was not satisfied with the explanation that the ruling was merely "a technicality."

"The burden of proof was put on the European Union and we expect them to immediately put Hamas back on the list, which everyone believes it should be an inseparable part of," Netanyahu said.

"Hamas is a murderous terror organization which emphasizes in its charter that its goal is to annihilate Israel. We will continue to fight [Hamas] with perseverance and strength so that it will never achieve this goal," he added.
