After Sakshi Maharaj, BJP leader Shaymal Goswami says Hindu women should have 5 children............

NEW DELHI: In yet another controversial statement, BJP leader from West Bengal Shyamal Goswami said Hindu women should have five children to help the community thrive.

The Bibhum leader's remarks have triggered a row.

Just a few days ago party MP Sakshi Maharaj had said Hindu women should have four children.

In Meerut last week to address a gathering on the occasion of Sant Samaagam Mahotsava, Sakshi Maharaj had said, "The concept of four wives and 40 children will not work in India and the time has come when a Hindu woman must produce at least four children in order to protect Hindu religion."

The BJP had distanced itself from Sakshi Maharaj's remarks and even served a show cause notice to the the leader for his controversial statements, seeking an explanation for his recent comments despite having been warned to observe restraint.
